Leonardo DiCaprio’s favorite artist, Domingo Zapata, has been obsessed with Leonardo da Vinci’s work for more than a decade and said he dreams of having sex with the woman in the 1503 painting.

A famous artist dubbed the next Andy Warhol has claimed to have sex with the Mona Lisa.
Spanish-born Domingo Zapata said he had been obsessed with the artwork for more than a decade and dreamed of having sex with the woman in the 1503 painting, whom he uses as the basis for many of his iconic reinterpretations.
The 47-year-old shot to fame with his digital versions of the Mona Lisa which have sold for millions of pounds and are also on display at the Louvre in Paris.
Domingo, one of Leonardo DiCaprio’s favorite artists, says his success is due to his intimate connection with painting.

He told The Sun: “I’ve worked with Mona Lisa for 15 years. When I was painting her so much, I was dreaming and having sex with her.
“You can’t stop where it takes you. As an artist, the relationship with the canvas is intimate. The more you open up, the more risks you take, the more you express yourself.
“It becomes an obsession when you’re in a subject and want to explore it more and more.”
Domingo said even Pablo Picasso’s granddaughter asked him about his obsession with painting.
“Diana Picasso – Picasso’s granddaughter, who is an art expert and a good friend of mine, asked me in the studio, ‘Do you dream of her, do you have sex with her?'” he said.
“And I’m like, ‘Of course I sleep with her in my dreams. If I hadn’t slept with her, I would have quit a long time ago.’

He added: “It’s almost one of those toxic relationships that never goes away.
“You keep coming back to it and you can’t continue even after 100 versions. I’m working on one right now. It’s a mess.”
The artist said he noticed similarities between his own creative journey and that of Leonardo da Vinci, as Leonardo da Vinci also tried to perfect his painting for years but never actually finished it.
“He tried several times, but he was never convinced by this piece. Mona Lisa touched him, like everyone else – including me,” said Domingo.
“Maybe it’s meant to be unfinished.”
Domingo, who lives in New York, has amassed fans around the world, including celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp.
But when the Louvre asked to display 26 of his interpretations alongside Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, Domingo said he initially thought it was “a joke”.
Still coming to terms with his own success, he said he fell physically ill when he learned his latest Mona Lisa sold for over $1 million in St. Barths as DiCaprio missed out. shortly the tender.
