“The Quartets of Salah Jahin”, after a long absence from the Egyptian scene, the famous Syrian artist Youssef Abdelké returns with a new exhibition. It includes 35 subjects from Salah Jahin’s quartets, which the Egyptian poet wrote between 1959 and 1962 (closes April 28). “Belly of a mountain: offerings and plates (2014 – 2020)” exhibition of sculptures by Sherif El-Azma. For his first exhibition at the El-Azma gallery presents a set of sculptural works made in old Cairo, in his studio in Fustat. An ongoing project that investigates material forms, material histories, renegotiations of symbolic language, offerings, ritual and alternative hypothetical narratives told with the object as the central core of discussion (May 8 – June 2).
