St. John’s High School has wonderful alumni who keep coming back. Mr. Pritpal SIngh (affectionately known as Polly) is an alumnus who is an artist of another ilk. He creates incredible sculptures from scrap metal, including realistic, life-size horse and bull heads.

Mr. Singh exhibited his scrap metal sculptures in the school and interacted with the students, stimulating their tender and artistic spirit.

Polly is an engineer who runs an industrial unit. In his spare time, he makes robotic and superhero-like action figures, using hard engineering techniques.

His otherwise mundane work becomes eccentrically beautiful and exciting when he combines his calling with his flair for art. He envisions creating passionate works of art from industrial and household waste and obsolete auto parts.

Students in the upper grades had the opportunity to understand Polly’s process as it makes the most of the waste from leftover industrial waste. The interaction/posting took place over two days. Interestingly, he named his creations Polybot… a game about his name and the “robots” he creates!
